Now Open: River Island in Manila - Glorietta 5

River Island in SM Aura has been open for over a week now but the brand's second branch in the Philippines opened their doors to the public just yesterday, December 7. To celebrate their opening they generously offered 25% off on all items yesterday and today to their customers!

Have you paid a visit to either one of the River Island stores yet?

Arajera Ear Pins

Arajera is an online store that sells jewelry like earrings, necklaces and rings; but what really caught my attention were her ear pins. She had a load of different designs on display like sterling silver and gold plated ear pins, bejeweled ones with colorful rhinestones, and birthstone designs that would make great birthday presents.

I scored these babies on the last day of the Urban Bazaar in the Rockwell Tent just last week. I say 'score' because I dropped by the bazaar on the first day and she was selling them for around PHP 650, but when I went back last Sunday evening she was having a 'last day sale' so Ara sold them to me for PHP 500 each. I was just lucky that both the designs I originally wanted were still in stock! I got the last gold plated wing ear pins, phew.

It was a bit tricky to put on at first, but I got the hang of it after a few tries. All you have to do is insert the pin in your ear pierce, and slide it upward. A trick that Ara taught me is to wear the ear pin like a dangling earring, then spin it around to wear it correctly. To avoid tarnishing, keep them stored in a sealed container, just like the one it comes with.

Arajera will be in another bazaar next weekend (September 6 - 8, from 11 am to 10 pm) called the Manila Sundance Bazaar in Metrowalk, with an entrance fee of PHP 50. If you live in the Philippines and won't be able to make it, check out her Facebook or Etsy shop to place orders.

What are your thoughts on ear pins?

Coming Soon: River Island, Shana & Claire's in Glorietta 5

First Bershka, then Stradivarius, and now River Island? Glorietta I love you. River Island is one of my must go-to stores when I'm out of the country. Their style reminds me of both Zara and Bershka, and just like those two, River Island also offers menswear.

"River Island is a London-headquartered high street fashion brand, which operates in a number of worldwide markets."
I've never actually heard of Shana before but I checked out their website and their designs remind me a lot of Forever 21. They've got some edgy pieces available but have some basic pieces as well like printed t-shirts and tanks. Pretty pumped for this Barcelona based women's fashion brand to open!
Apparently this isn't the first Claire's store in the Philippines, I just recently found out that their first branch is located in BGC. An brand that's been loved for years by little girls, pre teens, teenagers and even adults for their cute selection of jewelry and accessories.

Which one are you most excited about? I can't wait for River Island to open!

Beauty Favorites:

Ahava Uplifting Butter Salt
There are no grains of salt in this whatsoever, it's consistency is really thick and moisturizing and not harsh on the skin at all. This product feels so luxurious and I'm obsessed with the Mandarin Cedarwood scent, I'm trying my best to use it slowly and save it!

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

My favorite deep cleansing mask for when my skin just isn't looking or feeling good. It's an instant at-home facial! Read up on my review on this product here.

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation

Hands down one of the best foundations I've tried, that gives a medium to full coverage. What I like about this is that it doesn't look cakey or feel heavy on the skin at all. I love applying this with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush for a flawless, natural look.

Ahava Body Sorbet Caress

Best body lotion ever. No sticky feeling and my skin drinks it all up so quickly! It feels light too, which is important for someone who lives in a tropical country where it's hot all the time.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

Helps reduce my imperfections faster, especially those pesky tiny bumps on my face. Click here for my review on this product.

NYX Blush in Taupe

My go-to bronzer as of lately!

Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Lost Identity

The lip product I grab when I wanna put some color on my lips to liven up my face, while still maintaing a natural look. Ideal for girls in school cause it lasts long which means less applications and touch ups. This one's always in my bag! Click here for my review.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush

The only brush I've been using for my foundations and bb creams! There hasn't been a time that I put makeup on without using this brush since I got it. Click here for my review.

Real Techniques Blush Brush

I find that this brush picks up just the right amount of blush I need, no more no less. Click here for my review.

Now Open: Bershka + Stradivarius in Glorietta 2

They're finally open! Bershka opened their first ever store here in the Philippines yesterday while Stradivarius opened today, both located on the ground floor of Glorietta 2. If you haven't heard of Bershka and Stradivarius yet, they're both Spanish clothing brands that are under the same company as Zara. One difference between the two is that Bershka offers men's clothing while Stradivarius does not. They are also similar in prices, just like Zara's, where a simple top can go as low as around 800 pesos and all the way up to 2,000 and more. Their clothes are quite similar too but for some reason I like Bershka a lot more. I find that Bershka is more similar to Zara's style while Stradivarius' clothes are more like Cotton On's.

Check out my previous posts on Bershka and Stradivarius here and here!

Bershka

Coming Soon: Stradivarius in Glorietta 2

Sorry for the blurry photo!
Stradivarius is a women's clothing brand owned by the Inditex group, owner of other brands like Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti and more. A few months ago I was excited to find out that Bershka is opening a store in Glorietta 2 and even made a post on my blog here. I just recently found out that another store that I love going to when I'm out of the country is opening in Glorietta 2 as well, Stradivarius. Just like Bershka they have not given out any hints as to when they're opening yet. Crossing my fingers that it's soon!

Description taken from Wikipedia:
Stradivarius was developed in 1994 as a family owned business with an innovative concept in fashion in Barcelona, Spain. However, Stradivarius joined the Inditex Group in 1999 and, currently, the brand is present in 46 countries with more than 600 stores all over the world.

Coming Soon: Bershka in Glorietta 2

Whenever I'm out of the country I always make sure to stop by Bershka at least once, and I've never left their stores empty handed! A lot of you may already know that Bershka has been available in Manila for quite some time now - in a house located in Greenmeadows. I'm happy to share with you guys that they're finally opening their first legitimate shop here in Manila, expect a bigger store with a wider selection of apparel than their current "store" in Greenmeadows. I heard that their store in Greenmeadows doesn't offer men's clothing but hopefully it will be available once their Glorietta branch opens. Sadly there's no news yet as to when they're opening, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled!

Description taken from Wikipedia:
"Bershka is a retailer and part of the Spanish Inditex group (who also own the brands of ZaraMassimo Dutti, Pull and Bear, Oysho, UterqüeStradivarius and Zara Home). The company was created in April 1998 as a new store and fashion concept, aimed at a young target market. It now has 785 stores in 51 countries around the world. The sales made from Bershka represent 10% of the Inditex group."
