Wildflour Cafe + Bakery (Podium) • Take II

I purposely went a bit late for lunch since I thought it would be less busy, so I got there at around 2:30 pm. And boy did I think wrong! There was a long line of people curious on what the whole Wildflour cronuts craze is all about, and they all wanted a taste. (I'm pretty sure they were all there for the cronuts, I overheard about three people asking the waitress if they were still available and she said there was just one left. Is it that good?? I gotta try one asap.) I thought I'd go around the mall for a bit and wait for the line to get shorter...but after twenty minutes it didn't. I just wanted my grilled cheese sandwich man! It was obvious that people were still gonna come in for their marienda so I thought I'd just face the line instead.
All their yummy pastries prettily displayed by the counter. They must have a good system of cleaning because there wasn't one fly looping around anywhere...
Agua Fresca PHP 110
"Cucumber, lime, mint"
I walked my way to the mall so I wanted something refreshing to sip on that wouldn't clash with my meal. Their agua fresca was the way to go! I could definitely taste each ingredient including the cucumber, and was really good especially with all that ice.
Grilled Cheese PHP 290
"Gruyere cheese, caramelized onions, side salad"
What sets this grilled cheese apart from any other ol' grilled cheese sandwich is the caramelized onions they stuff in it that gives it a sweet taste. They cook their caramelized onions in a certain way that makes it a bit mushy to the point where they don't look like onions anymore, but I don't mean that in a bad way at all. If you've tried Wildflour's tarte flabee's before then you know what I'm talking about. Crunchy on the edges and gooey and cheesy in the inside, just the way I like it. I don't know what dressing they use on that salad but it's so good! The mix of greens and tasty dressing is enough for me to eat the salad on it's own without toppings. I'd happily eat one big bowl of this.

  3. Damn that looks good. I just heard recently that the cronuts are here. It seems interesting. But I just think they're basically croissants with stuff on top, I'd still want to eat one though. I like croissants. :))
