Kiehl's Line-Reducing Eye-Brightening Concentrate

Kiehl's Line-Reducing Eye-Brightening Concentrate PHP 2,550

I was desperately on the search for an eye cream that was gonna help lighten my dark circles, which is my biggest under eye concern. I went into Kiehl's and told the sales lady what I was on the search for and she introduced me to this tiny sample size looking tube. I read the description on the packaging and I was sold, I trusted her opinion and Kiehls' reputation and purchased it on a whim, despite it's steep price and without doing any research beforehand. Now that I own it and have used it for a couple of weeks - I really wish I read reviews first!

The actual product has a slightly greasy texture and takes awhile to sink in, it's light enough for the day but I prefer to use this during the nighttime. It also has a warming effect upon contact with the skin that I quite like. From the few weeks that I've used this, I've noticed that my dark circles have improved a bit. As for the fine-lines, I haven't noticed any difference yet. Most of my fine-lines are near my lower lash line, but I try to avoid applying the product too near my eyes because it irritates it and makes it itchy, so perhaps that's why? Another thing that I've noticed is that if I stop using it for a bit, my dark circles rise from the dead so unfortunately, I don't think the brightening effects are permanent.

I do like it and will continue to use it, but I admit I expected more from this product and that I don't think it's worth the money. I doubt that I'll be repurchasing this again, but instead continue my search for a cheaper eye cream that will work better for me. Sorry Kiehl's!

Any eye cream recommendations for dark circles?

  1. My opinion: don't repurchase it, if the
brightening effect is only temp and
it stings a little bit, don't buy it
    again!

  2. Wow this is an expensive eye cream! I'm looking for something that brightens under the eye too, still on the look out for the perfect eye product :P Such a shame that this Kiehl's eye cream is greasy and the results are only temporary :(

  3. Ouch, eye creams are usually expensive in the first place. I think Kiehl's products are usually a hit or miss, and unfortunately, the eye cream was a miss.
But then again, not doing research is also a way of discovering new gems. But darnit Kiehl's!

  11. Oh I'm sorry that this product was disappointing! I usually just use my Mario Badescu stuff. I'm more concerned about keeping my eyes hydrated though. The skin gets really dry x) I hope you find a better product though! Your blog is lovely, so I'll be following to keep up to date with your posts :)

  18. thanks for writing this review. i tested some khiels eye creams that i got as samples and they have similar properties. the dark circles disappear a bit right after you use it, i find that the lines smoothen a bit too, which was impressive. but it stops there. i stopped using it for a day, and like you said the dark circles comes back. so technically if you want the effect to last you have to keep using the product forever. im again on the hunt for other brands. the next one on my list would be olay regenerist, im using the sculpting cream and its really nice so maybe the eye cream is going to be nice as well.

  21. That's too much! I find that darkness can only be lifted through clinical medication and the only thing I can really rely on for eye creams is moisture.

  24. Thanks for the review! It's always a bummer when a beauty product doesn't address all the issues you need it to. I've been using ROC Retinol Correxion eye cream. It's well priced and I've found it tobe pretty effective for banishing eye circles.
