Kiehl's Line-Reducing Eye-Brightening Concentrate

Kiehl's Line-Reducing Eye-Brightening Concentrate PHP 2,550

I was desperately on the search for an eye cream that was gonna help lighten my dark circles, which is my biggest under eye concern. I went into Kiehl's and told the sales lady what I was on the search for and she introduced me to this tiny sample size looking tube. I read the description on the packaging and I was sold, I trusted her opinion and Kiehls' reputation and purchased it on a whim, despite it's steep price and without doing any research beforehand. Now that I own it and have used it for a couple of weeks - I really wish I read reviews first!

The actual product has a slightly greasy texture and takes awhile to sink in, it's light enough for the day but I prefer to use this during the nighttime. It also has a warming effect upon contact with the skin that I quite like. From the few weeks that I've used this, I've noticed that my dark circles have improved a bit. As for the fine-lines, I haven't noticed any difference yet. Most of my fine-lines are near my lower lash line, but I try to avoid applying the product too near my eyes because it irritates it and makes it itchy, so perhaps that's why? Another thing that I've noticed is that if I stop using it for a bit, my dark circles rise from the dead so unfortunately, I don't think the brightening effects are permanent.

I do like it and will continue to use it, but I admit I expected more from this product and that I don't think it's worth the money. I doubt that I'll be repurchasing this again, but instead continue my search for a cheaper eye cream that will work better for me. Sorry Kiehl's!

Any eye cream recommendations for dark circles?

Maybelline Color Tattoos

Left to right: Barely Branded, Bad to the Bronze, Inked in Pink

There are now three in total Maybelline Eyestudio Color Tattoos: Metal, Cream Gel Shadow and Pure Pigments Loose Powder Shadow. Bad to the Bronze is included in the Metal line, while Barely branded and and Inked in Pink are both Cream Gel Shadows
The packaging is a simple 10/10 for me. They come in glass pots with black lids that contain the shade of the eyeshadow and the shade of the eyeshadow can be seen at the bottom of the pot, which is a huge plus for me.
The formula of these eyeshadows are creamy and glide on my eyelids like no other. Bad to the Bronze is my most worn shade out of the three and is also the oldest I've own, so unfortunately it's dried up a bit and isn't as creamy as the other two anymore. I honestly don't know if Bad to the Bronze isn't as creamy as the other two because it doesn't come from the Cream Gel line or if it's because I've had it for quite some time now.
These are very pigmented, but you always have the option to blend it out since they blend pretty well anyway. The finish of the Color Tattoos are metallic, and can both be worn beautifully alone or as a base. These are super long lasting and also make my powder eyeshadows stay on longer when I use it as a base, which is important for me because I have oily lids. These are one of my favorite products from Maybelline and I'd definitely repurchase these, and even buy more of the shades!

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

The Naked Basics palette is the newest addition to Urban Decay's naked eye shadow palette family. This palette is a lot different from the first two (Naked and Naked2), it's a lot smaller and consists mostly of matte shades.

Instead of twelve eyeshadows like in the first two naked eyeshadow palettes, this only has six. One with a satin finish and five others with a matte finish.

I placed my iPhone 4 right beside the palette to show just how compact the palette actually is. As you can see it's slightly smaller than the iPhone, making it really great for traveling - plus it's light too!

This also has a mirror just like the first two naked eyeshadow palettes, but doesn't contain an eyeshadow brush like the first two. The size of each eyeshadow is the same size that is in the first two naked eyeshadow palettes.

I've had this palette since February and I've noticed myself using Venus, W.O.S. and Faint the most out of the six and Crave the least. This is the perfect palette to get if you're just starting to get into makeup, it's ideal for a natural everyday look and it's easier to play around with matte shades for a beginner.
Left to right: Venus, Foxy, W.O.S. (Walk of Shame), Naked2, Faint, Crave
These are all of the eyeshadows heavily swatched. The formulation of these are just like any of the other Urban Decay eyeshadows - velvety and soft.

News: Fairydrops in Manila

My all time favorite mascara in the whole wide world is the Fairydrops Platinum Water Proof Mascara (left). I bought these three babies in Hong Kong in Sasa, two for me and one for my tita, I bought two for myself because I wasn't sure when I'd get to go back so I wanted to have an extra one just in case. Better to be safe than sorry!

Well now there's no need to stock up on Fairydrop products whenever I'm in Hong Kong or in other countries where there's a Sephora. Because Fairydrops is now available in the Philippines, thanks to Beauty Bar!

If you haven't heard of Fairydrops then you're in for a real treat! It is a Japanese cosmetic brand that is famous for their amazing mascaras, both the formula and the wand is what sets them apart from other mascaras. I actually haven't tried any of their other product aside from their mascaras but I'm really looking forward on trying their BB cream.

Their Platinum mascaras (film and water proof type) are their bestsellers, as you can tell from the photo. The left most column where the white mascara tubes are, are supposed to be filled with the Platinum ones. They're temporarily out of stock in the Beauty Bar Rockwell branch.

Check out my review on the Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Water Proof Type here!

Comments / More Information:
- The platinum mascaras are probably available in other Beauty Bar Branches
- Their mascaras are around PHP 1,000 - the Platinum ones being the most expensive out of the bunch

Fairy Drops: Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Water Proof Type

Fairy Drops' (a Japanese make up brand) Fairydrops Platinum Mascara Water Proof Type (far left): HK$ 118

I'm a sucker for cute packaging!

Fairy Drops has always been known for their unique shaped mascara wand

See those eyelash looking things on the brush? That's the fiber in the mascara that makes your eyelashes appear longer

Sasa's Description:
FAIRY DROPS Platinum Mascara Water Proof Type contains 5 kinds of treatment essence to beautify and repair eyelashes. Fiber and Volume Up Wax make glossy, pine needle-shaped lashes with extra volume and length. Strong against humidity, it maintains the lashes’ curl all day long. As it is water-proof, sweat-proof and tear-proof, it is good for marine sports. You need not worry about mess and smudge.
US and Japan patented Fairy Drops Brush (Curve) catches even tiny lashes from their roots. Lashes are bitten between the balls and sharp triangular bunches are made. It pushes up making beautiful curls without clump.

Comments:
- Unfortunately, this isn’t available in the Philippines. I bought this on my trip to Hong Kong about a month ago in Sasa
- This mascara works miracles, ladies!!! Definitely the best mascara I’ve ever tried. EVER
- The unique mascara brush makes it easier to apply and reach even the smallest lashes
