Poco Deli

Citrus Delight PHP 130

Basically carbonated water or Sprite with various citrus fruits like grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime. Refreshing and served as a palate cleanser too for all the different kinds of meat we were eating.
German Sausage Single Sampler PHP 360
"German/Italian/Polish sausages, one big and three small sausages: Kielbasa, Nuernberger, Bratwurst, Cheese Krainer, Chicken Sausage, Bockwurst, or Frankfurter. Served with homemade sauerkraut and toasted NY bagel chips."

Tasty and full of flavor, you can really tell these sausages are homemade. Oh and don't forget to ask for some mustard! You're welcome.
Gourmet Tapa PHP 360
"Thinly sliced U.S. steak, pan-grilled with our special garlic marinade. Served with eggs and bacon rice."

I love me some tapa and this is hands down one of the best I've had! The meat was tender, the garlic marinade was really flavorful and the eggs were perfectly cooked.
Bacon Slab PHP 380
Thick, savory slices of bacon served with eggs and bacon rice. A taste of heaven for bacon lovers."

The only thing I like more than processed strips of bacon are thick juicy slabs of bacon. One of my favorites is from Cue in the Fort and this is definitely a competitor. The meat isn't tough at all and not too fatty!
Chili Seafood Pasta PHP 380
"Pomodoro sauce and seafood."

Probably my least favorite meal out of everything just because everything else was so good. I enjoyed this though after all the meat, rice and eggs. It's not something I would recommend for someone to order as their only dish since their meat is their specialty, but it's good for sharing for some variation.

Wildflour Cafe + Bakery (BGC) • Take II

Agua Fresca PHP 110
"Cucumber, lime, mint"

Good Morning Sunshine Smoothie PHP 240
"Strawberry, pineapple, mango, banana, yogurt, agave"
Mushroom Salad PHP 360
"Arugula, shaved apples, pistachio, parmesan"

The rest of the ingredients aside from the arugula are all pretty muted in flavor, which emphasizes the strong taste of arugula even more. It's really all about preference in taste in this case - I personally don't like arugula alone as a salad so I didn't enjoy this one as much as my mom did.
Eggs on Toast PHP 450
"Smoked salmon, poached egg, scrambled eggs, bearnaise"

This dish was surprisingly heavy because of the two way cooked eggs, despite the fluffiness of the scrambled eggs and the airy bread. The edges of the toast were dense and the slightest bit crunchy, while the middle was soft and light. It's a simple dish I'll always enjoy.

Lunchbox

Guava Iced Tea PHP 85
I'm obsessed with Hyatt's Guava Iced Tea so I figured I'd give theirs a try and see if it's any similar. It actually tastes completely different but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It's more on the sour side and its sourness is tamed by the tea infusion.
Pineapple & Mint PHP 85
Once I spot the word 'mint' on the drink list I'm sold, especially if the drink contains something sour. The combination of a citrus / sour fruit with mint is just so refreshing and delicious. Acts as a palate cleanser too!
Spinach Salad PHP 250
"With brie cheese, candied cashews & raspberry dressing"
Not to mention bacon! Not the frozen strips that we all know and love, but the liempo kind.
Mom's Meatloaf PHP 250
"With mashed potatoes / rice & garden veggies"
I know the star of this dish is the meatloaf but dang the mashed potatoes were good. Now I haven't tried meat loaf ever in my life before so I'm not one to judge, but I thought it was pretty good. According to my mom though, my grandma's is better!
Roast Chicken PHP 310
"With mashed potatoes / rice & garden veggies"
My dad ordered this but I personally wouldn't order roast chicken in any restaurant, just because I think it's boring. It was alright, the chicken was slightly dry and the garlic rice wasn't anything special.
Flourless Double Chocolate Cookie PHP 55
I'm a soft and chewy cookie lover and a brittle cookie hater, but this was an exception. It was really chocolate-y and ridiculously light, the cashews made it extra yummy too! We left no crumbs. If only I had a glass of fresh milk with me...sigh.
Calamansi Tart PHP 85
Tangy, smooth, with a kick of tartness from the calamansi - perfect to share.

Project Pie Philippines

I've passed Project Pie a couple of times and their bright big sign always caught my attention and got me intrigued. Although it wasn't until I saw some photos of people's custom built pizzas on Instagram and hearing raves here and there, that I decided I needed to try it out for myself. I did a bit of research about the restaurant (as I always do before trying something new) and found out that it's from the States and there are only a total of three operating locations at the moment. One in Las Vegas, another in San Diego and lastly...Mandaluyong?? We even beat Manhattan, Washington and Atlanta to it, which are all opening their own Project Pies soon.
My family and I went on a Sunday night right after hearing mass, which is a big thumbs down unless you're up for a long line and wasting a chunk of time hawking for vacant tables. They just opened last month and they're receiving a lot of love from Manila so go on a weekday if you can!
If you're in a hurry I suggest just going for one of the pizzas on the menu instead of customizing your own. It'll save you loads of time since you won't have to dictate every single topping, and you'll be directed straight to the cashier.
For custom built pizzas.
First Stop: Red (sauce) or white (no red sauce, in olive oil) pizza?
Second Stop: Cheese! Mozzarella, parmesan, feta, gorgonzola, and ricotta.
Second Stop: Meat! Pepperoni, italian sausage, crumbled meatballs, bacon, grilled chicken, canadian bacon, prosciutto, anchovies,
Third Stop: Veggies and other stuff. Red onions, green bell peppers, caramelized onions, cilantro, tomatoes, black olives, garlic, pesto, BBQ sauce, pineapple, artichokes, fresh chopped basil, rosemary.

Once you're done creating your own pizza, you'll be handed a piece of paper with your name and order, then settle with the cashier your additional orders like drinks or a salad (y'know, if it'll make you feel better about that pizza you're about to devour).
Still or sparkling water, a few choices of beer and tiny adorable bottles of white and red wine if you're feeling classy. Oh and refillable Coca-Cola branded soft drinks and house blend iced teas (think slightly sweetened literal tea)!
My tita's pick: pizza #5 (white pizza)! Mozzarella, ricotta, gorgonzola, parmesan, cracked black pepper, olive oil, garlic and fresh chopped basil.
My tita and I agreed that this one was pretty salty. I don't think it's the combination of ricotta and gorgonzola, but the amount topped on the pizza that made it too salty.
My pick: pizza #7 (white pizza - prosciutto, caramelized onions, mozzarella and parmesan) plus additional mushroom and fresh chopped basil.
I was happy with my creation and thought the flavors complimented each other well, but I do regret not asking for more caramelized onions.
My mom's pick for her and my dad (white pizza): artichoke, prosciutto, mozzarella, feta, gorgonzola, parmesan, dried cranberries, candied walnuts and caramelized onions.
My dad and I didn't exactly know what my mom was going for... The salty (prosciutto, feta, gorgonzola) clashed with the sweet (dried cranberries, candied walnuts, caramelized onions) but hey as long as she likes it and I don't have to eat it then we're all happy. Haha just kidding mom!
For a nineteen year old girl with a hefty appetite, I was stuffed with my 12 inch pizza. All the pizzas (except for the classic cheese pie) cost PHP 285, even for the custom built ones, no matter how much or how little toppings you want! One tiny disappointment though was how they put the basil before they put the pizza inside the oven, which made them shrivel up. My parents also said that they've eaten pizzas with better dough, this wasn't something I noticed or got bothered by though. To each his own, I guess!
Have you tried or heard of Project Pie?

Deliboys

Truffle Fries PHP 150
Each bite was crunchy and not too greasy, and had the perfect tinge of truffle. Never thought that sour cream would be a great dip for fries - the combination was light and delicious.
Iced Tea PHP 49
This tasted more like four seasons than iced tea to me, it was okay but it didn't leave me wanting more.
Trio PHP 276
"Whole wheat, sweet ham, pepperoni salami, mortadella, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar"

Now this, is a sandwich. Layers and layers of cold cuts all stacked up between slices of whole wheat. The only problem is how to eat it, I wouldn't exactly recommend ordering this on a first date...
Roast Beef PHP 240
"Ciabatta, roast beef with mushrooms, caramelized onions, lettuce, cheddar"

One thing about Deliboys is that you'll never be disappointed with their portions, or be disappointed at all. They're really generous with their servings and it comes with a reasonable price, too. What more could you ask for?
